Constructed from psi-phased matter, the PsiPlane is a vehicle powered and piloted entirely by the energies released from the pilot's mind. It is capable of reactionless flight at speeds approaching 5700 mph at sea-level, and can move at extreme superluminal velocities in space. These performance observations vary with the operator's mental capabilities.

It has one deck comprised of six habitable compartments with a mean deck height of 2.3 meters. An elevator/airlock provides main access to the vehicle for normal use, with two side airlocks for auxiliary airlocks for various mission uses. The windscreen can be jettisoned using explosive bolts in extreme emergencies. The elevator/airlock doubles in function as a space lifeboat with life-support facilities for two weeks, and simple retro-thrusters and a parachute for maneuvering and landing.

Main power for the vehicle is entirely psychic. The operator supplies a tickle-charge of psychic power to a pure psionium crystal located below the main deck. This crystal both stores and amplifies the energy supplied to enable vehicle maneuvering. It also allows long-range telepathic communication as well as other amplified psychic abilities. Designed by the telepath Psion as a retreat and interstellar exploration craft, it has been engineered to best reflect his abilities. Under his control, the craft exhibits invulnerability, adaptation, and regeneration, as well as an offensive capability similar in nature to his psi-bolt. The PsiPlane has also demonstrated a capability to accelerate far beyond the speed of light in real space, in apparent violation of relativistic concerns.

Three 2000 liter water storage tanks are located one each beneath the main Flight Deck and in each wing. Computer controlled, high-pressure pumps maintain even distribution between these tanks to provide additional vehicle stability. Mechanical and electronic equipment are generally housed above the flight deck, along the vehicle spine, and within each wing.

Each wing also contains an array of 3,300,000 candle power quartz-halogen landing lights and standard port/starboard navigation lamps. A larger array of lamps position beneath the Flight Deck shine forward with 6,300,000 candle power and can illuminate an area five miles away to the brightness of daylight.

The Flight Deck is the largest single cabin on the PsiPlane and is distinguished by a large, uninterrupted floor-ceiling window that runs the entire circumference of the Flight Deck's outer wall. This provides the pilot with over 200° of visual area, with high-resolution video cameras compensating for blind spots. Comfortable seating for passengers is also provided, and the arms of the pilot's couch house psionium touch-plates that channel energy and commands to the vehicle and computer. The pilot also has access to a large, transparent touch screen and control surface that can be used by properly cleared psi-nulls to access the computer to control the craft with its stored psychic reserves.

The common area contains access to the elevator/airlock, as well as an eight-position conference/dining table with touch-sensitive display consoles flush with the table surface. The consoles are intended for computer access.

There are two living cabins with adjoining bathrooms. Each can provide comfortable sleeping facilities for four people.

The cargo-bays are simply large, empty areas for material storage and may be converted to other purposes on demand.

Food is dispensed similarly to U.S. Orbiter facilities. Meals are dehydrated and stored in sealed mylar pouches and reconstituted with hot or cold water. Rations for six months for a crew of eight are provided.

Non-functional surfaces are covered in a cushioned impact-absorbing material (Sorbothane) with a fabric covering to match the decor) to reduce personnel injuries in the event of an emergency.

The frame is constructed from psi-phased titanium and aircraft-grade aluminum and the hull from layers of resin and Sorbothane.
